Training Management
The Office of Defense Cooperation is the sole
point
of contact for the Governments
of Singapore & Brunei for all military training matters in the United
States except the Military Academies, which come under the purview of
the Defense Attaché's Office.
While information is readily available, only training requested and purchased through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) channels via the respective Governments Ministry of Defence will be made available, if deemed releasable to the foreign Government in line with the United States' National Disclosure Policy.
Training provided through the Foreign Military Sales program includes
courses provided by the US
Air Force (including the Air National Guard), US
Navy, US Army,
(and the Army National Guard) , US
Marine Corps and even the US
Coast Guard.
The training offered covers all levels and needs from basic courses through advanced, specialist courses and includes Masters Degrees Programs at the Naval Postgraduate School and other Professional Military Education at the various Staff Colleges and War Colleges.
International Military Students (IMSs) and any accompanying dependents,
once identified by the respective Ministry of Defence, must have their personal
particulars forwarded to ODC for the preparation
of the Invitational Travel Order (ITO). Closer to the departure date,
the IMS msu report to ODC for a pre-departure
briefing and will have to provide their (and their dependents')
medical certificates
